Carrabelle is located on the Carrabelle River. The port
has all the modern services you may need with hometown hospitality.
Banking, shops, the post office, a flower shop, hardware stores and other
services are all located within a short walking distance. Sorry, no large
department stores, no malls, and no traffic lights. US Highway 98 (A1A
West) serves
as the main street through town. The World's Smallest Police Station is
located in the center of town. The
Crooked River Lighthouse
is on US Highway 98 a short distance West of town. State Route 67 North
from Carrabelle offers a scenic drive through parts of the Apalachicola
National Forest and Tates Hell State Forest. Carrabelle is actually on an
island. The area is surrounded on all sides by water and is named, St.
James Island. |
